For many years the Injeel or story of Jesus was suppressed in Arab countries. The result? No Arab country is a democracy today. Freedom of religion and government by the people go hand in hand. In Dhivehiraajje it is considered illegal to be a Christian. Certainly it is deemed a mortal sin to preach the Injeel. The Holy Bible is almost unknown in Male' and non-existant in some atolls. Generations of children are raised to believe that 'infidel' Christians are their worst enemies. Yet the prophet Mohamed praised Christians and Jews as 'people of the Book'.

Whether dictator, paatey or mosque thief - the answer is the same - muslims fight, and often kill, muslims. Reformists are hated as much as conservatives. It is not a question of changing politics (one devil replaces another): changing the heart is needed.
It is time to listen to Jesus, the prince of peace. He says, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
