Public demonstration in Addu atoll Many islanders, including businessmen, have gathered outside the atoll office demanding the government take action against the deteriorating law and order situation. Trucks and other vehicles are carrying people to the demonstration.

Locals in Hithadhoo are out on the street beating up the drug addict paateys

Confirmed reports are coming that the locals are out on the streets of Hithadhoo island in Addu (Seenu) atoll in southern Maldives trying to get hold of the paateys - addicted muggers and thieves - who mugged the doctors which led them to resign and leave the island. It is reported that the situation is very serious and that the police are protecting the paateys rather than the public. It is reported that NSS police have done nothing about the rise in crime in the atoll. Gayyoom's police love drug addicts and use them to do their dirty work like they did on Black Friday.

Another cutter slashing incident in Naifaru island

Confirmed reports are coming from Naifaru island in Lhaviyani (Faadhippolhu) atoll north of Male' atoll that more than 500 people are near the hospital screaming at the police who are protecting the paateys who once again carried out a cutter and acid attack tonight in which five people have been badly hurt. These are the same group who carried out a vicious attack earlier thus year with a cutter. The NSS police is apparently not concerned about the safety of the public and released the paateys without charge or detention and used them to create fear among the local population.
